Default LPC-815 Help

Hi all, this is my first post in nearly a year and I am finally getting back into the science of lasers.

I am working on a short LPC-815 build that I was hoping would be quick and easy to make. I am going to use a rkcstr driver at about 400mA, and just put the module in a small project box. Tonight I bought some tools to make an assembly for two CR123's. I have found that what I was planning to do might not work, and I am now looking for alternatives.
My question is, will four AAA's be sufficient instead of four AA's or two CR123's? And could two CR2's be plausible as well? My only concern was the amperage would be too low for the driver.
And if this did suffice, is it correct that 400mA will output just under 300mW?

Thank you in advance,
L. Connor

2 CR123s will work, so why can't you use them?

I bought the smallest project box available from RadioShack. I planned on cutting down a C-Cell holder and modifying it to put inside of the box, but the box it is too small. I'd rather not attach the batteries poorly to each other and would prefer some type of casing around them.
Would you have any ideas?

You might get 4 AAAs to work. They can deliver the current, and 6v may just be enough to make things work.

it's like 3v for the diode, and 2.2v for the driver. AAA batteries should work fine.

No matter what combo I use I'll get 6 volts though; Two 3V at 750mA CR123's, two 3v at 800mA CR2's, or four 1.5V AAA's.
Nonetheless I'll tinker around with it. Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

L. Connor
