Hi all. It seems my MXDL tailcap switch has gone permanently open.

The problem is, there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the switch! I tried unscrewing it with a pair of needle-nose pliers...no luck. I even ripped to switch cover by pulling on the rubber...FML.

Does anyone have any experience with these? I really don't want to throw away an otherwise perfectly good host and heatsink!

Thanks in advance.

Yes. You can drill 2 small holes across from each other (9 o'clock & 3 o'clock) down into that white plastic/nylon piece in your 1st pic. Dont drill too deep, just enough to create a couple of holes that you can use needle nose pliers to squeeze & untwist that part counterclockwise to pull it up and out. I've done this on numerous tailcaps mainly to switch out worn buttons or to change their color, I'm pretty sure it's the same case with yours ;)

I'd share a pic if I had one but I'm not at home right now, hope this helps though
