So like in my other assembly thread using the HF Gordon's "mini mag" http://laserpointerforums.com/f51/assembly-hf-mini-mag-4x-405nm-pic-heavy-83558.html I stated that I would be using this host like I did with my sAik builds, you know, one for every diode within reason or funds that is.:tinfoil:

Well here is a "how to" on the same host using the awesome power of the 9mm diode:bowdown::bowdown: I will do many variants of this host as I have found that creating a series of same host is IMHO more fun and the build quality does get better as I go, + plus it looks more organized in my collection locker

I started my parts acquisition:
1. 9mm diode Thanks Jordan
2. Lens barrel
Thanks again Jordan:thanks:
3. Focus adapter was one of those MOH deals he had on here awhile again, but Cliff will be happy to supply one of those for you:beer:
4. Magic board from cajunlasers as well
5. 1 X-boost regular provided by our local driver guru Angelos whom provider a beefier inductor for this build...:bowdown::bowdown:
6. 22500 batt.
7. Heatsink by jander6442:shhh:

The build:
I knew the HF mini mag was going to be a hard sell for a 9mm diiode build for 2 reasons, of course heat was the biggest, but also power supply. I kinda set the current to what the 22500 battery could handle and then turned the throttle back:shhh: for some descent run times.

Yea it gets warm, no faster than my dual driver big boy:shhh:. Man this thing is bright, not to be confused with other builds of it's size this is a dangerous mini.
I will get some LPM readings when I get a moment. Thanks for looking and get out there and build.;)

That's a chunky little monster. The power readings should be interesting with the 9mm , what are you expecting?

Good point, I'm hoping to get the LPM up tonight. I'm anticipating @1.6A to get at least 2W
I feel that this is a somewhat efficient diode based on some others I've fired up I did not binn the thing like I should have only because I was going to use it in this host anyway and the driver was going to push whatever it could based on what the 22500 battery could handle for max then turned down a bit. Thanks man for noticing.

Why only 1.6A? Going for long life?

Well really I wanted a daily duty 9mm and with the limited cell I went with what the cell could supply happily without worrying about dipping out. I also had to have the 9mm in my mini mag arsenal next is a 12x and magic board.:eg:

Thanks sinner, I love it when you chime in on my build threads makes me feel good to have your artistic eye on my humble creations
