All of these lasers have the .5W sticker on them. The actual "rating" of the laser is noted in the model number.

This is a 2211-10SL. The 2211 tells you it is a low power "box-type" laser. The 10SL tells you it is a 10mW Single Line (488nm) laser. The other two letters tell you more about the "housing" and umbilical of the laser.

If the tube is pretty new/healthy, you might get 30mW out of it. However, it is NOT .5W.

Also, this is for the laser head ONLY. No PSU is included. So, this auction is an offer of a 10-30mW, 488nm laser, with NO PSU, for $280, plus shipping

When you go with Dave you know that you are getting a working unit!
Alot of the ebay gas lasers are a crap shoot. I got one of these heads from a piece of medical equipment. Turned out that the tube did not work, but at least I got a PSU and Fan with the deal.(don't forget the fan you MUST have).
After all this I ended up purchasing a tube and controller from Dave and now I have a Very nice WORKING multi-line Argon!:beer:

I only wish my argons put out 500mWs-My lowest SL is about 12 mWs and my ML peaks at 145mWs but it gets very hot at that and shuts itself down.

This should NOT be happening. What laser? What PSU? What controller? What fan? Do you know at what current it is running?
