Hey folks,

Just browsing the new arrivals at KD and found this here.

It doesn't look like any I've seen before, except possibly the S-KY focusable models. I find it hilarious that in the description, Kai actually writes "No IR filter for maximum output" ;D Focusable from a spot to a flood, sort of like WLs "Photonic disruptor".

It uses 18650's and looks from the pictures to be a step above your average pointer. (With a price to match, natch...) Interesting description however, and the unit looks like it's well designed on the outside.

Anyone willing to test one?

That's mine.

LOL, no IR filter for max output. Now that's the way to do business. They must browse these forums because I've been looking for exactly this kinda thing ;D

Yeah I'm already waiting for a few lasers so it'll be a long while till I get that :(

What's that screw-in dongle/wrist strap supposed to do in the back? Anything amazing?

LOL no IR filter for max output ;D
At least they are honest about it. I also like the part where it says "our laser power meter has not arrived yet so we are using this IR torch to burn plastic bags"
This might actually be decent if it puts out 100-150 mw of green. My concern is that most of it is IR based off their description.

I should have read the thing better; the lanyard is a safety lock. Quite strange.

I'm guessing the stated output is peak, not average?

Because they don't have a meter they are going by the manufacturer rated output. Usually the shadier Chinese manufacturers will use the peak+any IR leakage and list the total as the lasers output. This laser still might be good though. I have heard nothing but good stuff about the 50mw edwina. If they are supplied by the same company I can see it being decent.

I agree with Razako, it probably peaks at 150mW, including IR. I believe that the video they show is actually of the 50mW version, unless that's a typo above the video. With current regulation and a good 18650 one would think it would at least be stable at whatever power it is.

Interesting that it has big-laser features (shutter, focus ring and safety interlock lanyard) at a laser of this price though.

the housing looks nice
but not impressed with the output and the price
and it realy sucks that it does not have a ir filter
also the output does not look like anything near 150 mw
more like 30-40 mw max even my leadlight 40 mw with ir filter burns a plastic bag faster then that

The demo video was made with their v2 50mw. Not the 150mw.

even then im pret sure the 150 mw version wont do 150 mw of green
even the 50 mw model kinda looks weak
dx does not sell any high quality lasers but what can be expected at those prices
anybody order one yet ?

"No IR filter for maximum output" lol!

The video for their 50mW doesn't look very promising, my old pot modded leadlight could do that.

If you can get 90mw of green out of the 150mw model, I think it would be a decent buy.

but is that a key in the back? only disadvantage...what if it gets lost?
