I'm about to buy a laser for the first time, either 100 or 150 mW.
The point is, do I need goggles if i just look at the beam or not?

EDIT: It doesn't have an IR filter.

I would reccommend O-like.com or Rayfoss.com over dealextreme. Dealextreme's lasers are known to be underspec and low quality. You do not need safety glasses if you are just looking at the beam and if you are careful. (Actually it's not possible to look at beams through laser glasses!)

What do you mean, "doesn't have that IR problem"? I can't find where it says it includes a filter. That 50mW has actually been reviewed well; it seems good. And no, you don't need goggles for the beam, just the dot.
