My newbe searches online don't "point" me to what I need to buy; it is use specific and the criterion are:
1.Green 532 200 mW laser pointer
2.22mm or smaller diameter body
3.constant off/on switch
4.working temp from 0 to 30C
5.duty cycle of 120 seconds /30 seconds or better
6.IR filter/shield tested
7.FDA COMPLIANT
8.rechargable battery
9.beam diameter at aperture small enough to give 1.5 inch or tighter beam dot at 200 meters (< or= 1.0mm I think).

Since I cannot seem to find this, is there anyone out there with a good rep/reliable enough to build one ? I am NOT, repeat NOT looking for a cheap unit. Trust me when I say that there is a market out there for this Item; I may just turn out to be the test case............thanks........newbe Chazgreen... USA

Those are some pretty strict divergence requirements. Say you start out with a 2mm beam at aperture and you want ~38mm at 200m, that's a divergence of 0.18mRad, very low for anything handheld, even for a lab modules that's very low. 1mRad is probably closer to what you'd get in most handhelds without a beam expander. That would give you a ~200mm beam at 200m with a diameter at aperture of 2mm.

You also have a long duty cycle requirement, with a fairly large amount of power in a small host across a wide range of environmental temperatures. That's not easy to achieve, especially not with 532nm DPSS.

What is the market for such a handheld?

ONLY if they are basically the same threads--

what if every posted did this or started 3 threads

more threads will not get you faster or better replies

AND where is your 'intro' thread in the WELCOME section
do you NOT think it is simply good manners to say hi and a bit about yrself before demanding help

posting twice is demanding

every bit of advice given was solid BTW

I will be more inclined to reward you w/ a +7 rep bump after I read your intro

IF you are not sure what exactly makes a good one simply go there and READ!!!
you can PM PED to get that thread closed
