Cheapest green/red laser thats able 2 pop balloons

I was about to buy a 30.00 green laser and try to pot mod it to get it to burn balloons and matches. But I've been reading on these forums that people don't recommend it.

So...my question is. What's the cheapest laser (green or red) that's able to 'easily' burn matches and balloons? Preferably under 80. I live in the US btw, and I heard DX stopped selling over 5mW to US residents. Any other places?

You don't need a laser to pop a balloon. You can pop a balloon with a sharp stick

I'm sorry, I didn't word myself correctly.

I'ld like to be able to pop a balloon from my chair, without getting up and touching the balloon, and the balloon is across the room by the front window. I have a lot of them. You see, I'm usually working at my computer, and I can't lose my concentration. My dog starts barking every now and then, and I usually have to stop what I'm doing, get up, yell at him, then go make a loud noise to scare him so he'll stop. Happens a couple of times a day.

So if I had a laser, I could yell at him, pop the balloon/scare him without getting up, then get back to work.

So yeah... my life story.

Thanks Grix, I'll check that link out. That looks like the same one for 50 at DX, is it? If so, I take it thats the only cheap laser around right now that can pop things?

ps: laser will also come in handy when lighting my small pit I have. I usually have to light the match, stick my hand in under the lighter fluid and coals, then pull my hand out fast enough so the flames dont burn my arm. If I had a laser, I could put the match under the coals and lighter fluid, and then light it without risking my hand catching on fire.

that thing about DX isnt entirely true, they shipped me true 100 mW without special request. they ship the true 50 and the true 100 mW to the US for some reason, any other one no. theyre both under 40 and i have both and i love them. both can pop balloons
