DJNY, i know your good people so please don't take this the wrong way.

I think your the first human to take those two individual words and figuratively speaking terms force them to stand together since the early 1940's. Even outspoken supporters of this individual are unable use the phrase or question in casual conversation.

Still no clue to the Avatar or reason d'etre

He certainly isn't the first, and neither am I. That is only one of countless efforts to make Hitler funny.

I can see why it would disturb some people. I only thought it was mildly amusing and uploaded it as my avatar.

Why does Hitler need to be funny?

I wasn't gonna say anything but to be honest that avatar also irks me.

It was different for Charlie Chaplin to make fun of him in that era, but now with the lessons of history for us to see... what exactly is the goal of "countless efforts" in making him funny?

In general I'm all for humor, and freedom of expression, but COUNTLESS EFFORTS? :wtf:

Visit the Holocaust memorials in germany, Israel, or just New York, and than try laughing.

I like to find out how much people paid attention in school. Ask everyone you know if Hilter was German.... When they say yes you can laugh and proceed to school them a bit.

I see your point, but we even make fun of the Taliban. And thats even a touchier subject at this time in history.

If it was serious, I'd say pull it, but its not obviously. You shouldn't get offended by stupid crap like that. My avatar is a joke too. But if the Jewish actors, director, producers, and owner of Columbia didnt mind, I dont think we should either. Jews have been making fun of Hitler since day one. I dont see it being a problem.

That's not what I meant.
I was trying to say that joking about Hitler has become a bit hackneyed and that's the reason I failed to see the avatar would offend people at the time I uploaded it.

I'm gonna go take that down now to avoid controversy...

I cant honestly say i was offended by the joke at the time i read this thread, because i didn't understand it and the Avatar. On a personal note looking through my glasses humor is the furthest possible thought when either are discussed. I wouldn't want anyone to understand.

kumowoon1025 - No worries bro. I really didn't think you were attempting to offend anyone. It wouldn't be me to not ask or say something.
