So, any idea what sort of lab equipment these come out of?  I may look into doing some salvaging here at my school, as there are a good number of research labs.  Or, maybe ask around some people I know who work in labs, see if anyone's throwing some cool stuff away :)  I got a free ELISA plate reader once... still worked, just needed a new bulb which cost $5... sold the thing on Ebay for >$100  ;D

Usually the lab will just have it sitting somewhere, and they get rid of them when they upgrade to a new argon/dpss/who knows what else.

Exactly what climbak said, its so close now that you can almost taste it...no sense in wasting time...kidnap a security guard of the right size, take his clothes...and bam you have your argon...easy as cake...

Oh and climbak just saw your offer, from what ive read you payed a hefty sum for the argon, and I was kinda hoping (optimist) to get a gooey deal of ebay :D..thanks for the offer though!

I'm willing to make a deal and I found the actual Uniphase controller for it on ebay. I am in the process of buying a 300mW labby from CNI so I could use money to offset the cost.
