Just got my 589 literally minutes after getting my 650 PL-E Pro back

Did a quick run on my LPM and got it to run around ~49mW, which isn't bad considering I payed for a 30mW unit! I almost forgot how warm DPSS yellows get and kept it running a little over the 1min mark since I couldn't get enough of the beam haha.

Been like a year without having a yellow laser :( Knowing how hard they are to get nowadays, I most likely will never get rid of this one!

Unfortunately, I think this is also a cold liking laser. I left it outside at around 60 Degrees and got my highest peak, of 55mW. Let it warm up for awhile and only got around 45mW's.

How is your 589nm? Does it like it cold also? :)

Mine behaves the same way. It get my best numbers when the laser is in a cool environment such as outside at night (haven't tried cold yet, it's late spring here in Florida :p ), but after a few times through the duty cycle so it has had a chance to heat up evenly. It appears as though the few trips through the duty cycle (to fully and evenly heat soak the internals) and the externally cool temperatures combine to really help the laser fuction at it's peak reliability and power.

Awesome haha! I say I like 589nm a lot better then 594nm. The color is so much more golden and awesome ahhhhhhhhhh :D :D :D

Yeah, don't think I want a 593.5nm anymore honestly. I've seen both 593.5nm & 589nm and I like 589nm better hehe. Plus, the only 593.5nm lasers around are in pen format(that I can afford) and I prefer the handheld hosts.

Edit: Plus, I am going for a rainbow here. 589 is a better yellow than 594 :)

561nm..... hmmm. Maybe in the future :p

I either have my spartan or my PL-E coming in next week. I got a txt on my phone about a DHL delivery from china next tuesday. Neither company has sent me an email saying my order shipped though. I guess I'll wait and see what shows up. I suspect the PL-E.

I wish that I could spring for a 589. But I just can't afford it right now. And honestly, I should probably get a LPM first. :eek:

Get whichever you want first my friend! :)

I did another LPM test tonight. When warmed I can just squeeze out about 42mW's out of this guy. When left outside for 10mins, I got a peak of 53mW. Crazy how these work :D
