If I had the money, I'd probably go with the $290 micro mini lathe from Harbor Freight...

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=95012

It's only 4"x5" workable area, though... so if I had another $80 I'd probably step it up to the 7"x10"

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=93212

But, I'd buy one to try because I live down the street and could return it if it was crap.

Also, they quite frequently put out 15% off coupons, sign up for their retail flyer (by mail, or email maybe too) on their website and you might get one in the near future.  Plus, they're having a sidewalk sale June 4-6, and might find some good deals.  If I get an extra coupon that I'm not using for June, I'll let ya know ;)

Those are the same as the Harbor Freight ones... but for about $100 cheaper, well at the current price anyway.

I think you should make me some stuff when you get one ;)

GREG! that's such a no-no! don't leave it in the box!  :D

Really, I recommend Grizzly above all others - they make some QUALITY machinery! I have several of their products in "the shop", and none of them have ever disappointed!

Hmmmm - I need a bigger lab, someone to move stuff around for me, oh, I could go on and on and on and on...... LOL
My daughter is going to have to move the Lathe into place - I gotta have it in place BEFORE Father's Day - or my wife has threatened she would simply place a bow on the box, and call it a day ! GAH ! Dad needs a new watch :)

OT - does anyone know off hand why ANY you-tube video for me using <Firefox> only plays about 2 seconds, then freezes ? Did I miss a patch somewhere I guess ? Works fine with IE - just HATE the overhead with IE....

Back to the subject, THAT is a FAST mo-fo !
