Some of this I would personally consider to be malicious/hostility. I completely understand the difference between that and constructive criticism. Now that this has become a thread on conspiracy theories and ethics instead of my single sale, I'm going to just let it be. I really do appreciate everyone's constructive criticism and will continue to always take away something positive from every occurrence;).

Honestly I don't know what the problem is.

There is nothing blatantly suspicious about this thread. He was asked for more pictures and he posted them.

With regards to the price - it's his laser if he wants to try selling it for a high price why shouldn't he? Many people on here buy lasers, test them out, and resell them at cost or higher - is there anything wrong with that? If so A LOT of people are guilty.

@YnotBeHappy - PM one of the trusted senior members and ask them if they will be kind enough to act as middle men in the transaction. If selling in the US the worst loss taken by a prospective buyer is ~$5-$10 for shipping.

Well good morning everyone. Wow, what a good nights rest. OK, so this has been a very interest 1st encounter on the LPF, and has really become positive over the last few hours. I really appreciate the people who PM'd me and their kind thoughts. Gotta love the interwebs and the very dynamic range of people it consists of.

Yeah, I love how much he stresses that 85 percent are seized by customs, to inflate the price 100 dollars or so.

Listing was actually removed from ebay, as it is over 5mw. But, since you are trying so hard to "catch" me in something, I'll play because it's entertaining. I have attached a copy of the letter I received from ebay, about my personal listing.

And my other listing is also posted here. Over at the overclockers forums, where my name is BeHappy. And i'm conveniently located in Atlanta Ga (actually moved to gainesville, fl now). Those were the other listings I spoke about.

Hey, it's not my fault you came into a forum dealing with lasers and asked $320 for a used arctic. You can get a custom machined laser for that a lot of the times.

Forgive me if I missed something, but how are those listings related to this one except that they are also for arctics?

If there is something specific to look for, please explain I would like to know how you are determining this to be a scam.

Agreed, but again, how are those listings related to this thread? Original price was high but aside from that, what set off alarms that this is a scam in any way?

Also why not just use a middle man to eliminate the problem altogether. If a seller is specifically not willing to use a middle man that should be a HUGE red flag.

@YnotBeHappy - would you be willing to use a middle man?

Just a suggestion for a stickie, but it could help. Why not mandate the use of a middle man for sales by all member with below a certain post or rep count? Than if a middle man is not used, the buyer has no one else to blame but himself.

(I know the "Read Before You Send Your Money" thread covers this, but a different approach might do better and eliminate all this hostility. A basic thread - "All Sales By New Members Should Use Middle Men" - Maybe charge a small middle man fee?)

I never said it was a scam, I just don't like when people aren't up front from the beginning. Especially when they are brand new and their first post is to sell something.
