your looking at 100 bones for a 6x type build

You guys charge labor, thought this was a hobby?  :-X
Man.... what makes you think that someone owes you his labour to build
something for you.... just because this is a Hobby... :-? :-?

Is it not enough that we share getting parts at a much better price than on the
retail market...

I'll tell you what.... you pay the parts... and I'll supply the labour to build a
module... in exchange for you coming to cut my lawn...
this way no one works for free and no one looses..

Or you could buy all the parts from different members to get the best price
(prices vary slightly) and you could build it yourself and gain experience in the
process...  ::)

I don't know... Just a thought... let me know about my lawn... ;D ;)

I just replied to your PM with some questions for clarification.  This thread gives me that clarification.  John is on the right track, but he is only starting to sell.  In addition to the "costs" John listed above there are a couple of more things that must be included

You also have to add postage (1st class, insured, tracking W/signature confirmation) and supplies [$5 for something small like this: $13 (priority, insured, tracking, signature) for whole lasers].

Finally, I have to put a little away from each sale to defray the cost of the occasional warranty work. (3%)

So you are looking at a total "cost" of around $92 for this module.  How much is your time worth?  How much is the knowledge that you are not going to have a blown diode at the ends of the build worth?  Are those things worth $18?  I think so [and I am cheap;) ].  I'll put a module together for you (6X, Rkcstr, Aixiz W/acrylic) for $110, shipped in the US.

Plus, your timing is excellent!  I have the parts on my table right now.  I'm building right now for my next "sale."  I should get the sale thread posted tonight or tomorrow.  I can build this module for you today (after payment) and have it in the mail tomorrow.

Peace,
dave

**EDIT** @ Jerry -- Can you even see your lawn at this time of year up there?

LOL, I'll pass on the lawn cutting haha.

I replied to your PM daguin. I am new to the laser building thing, and I don't want to screw a diode up!

order your diodes in pairs or more. you can get 2x phr or lpc diodes off of the forum for $20-$25. makes it less stressful when building knowing you have a spare. you are less likely to tear up a driver during a build, most of the time it's the diode's that get the tombstone.
