~240mW, but thats an estimate. I don't have a Kenometer or other LPM. It's running with an AR glass lens.

Another LPC is running as of late last night, at 200ma. I will put a brass heatsink on and bump that to 380ma. Thanks Glenn! I have been putting the key turn interlock/switch on the back end of all of my lasers now. It looks cool and provides some level of safety. This way it takes a little more fore-thought to energize the beam.

Put the brass heat sink on and bumped my diy DDL driver to 380ma. That is one hot beam and I'm feeling really confident to turn a sled into a high power pointer now. It's a great feeling isn't it?

That LPC has been bumped to 400ma. That should be enough. I have way too many current sense resistors in parallel on my DDL driver to get 400ma. I'll be getting some .47 ohm 1/4 watt resistors to fix that problem. The beam is certainly visible and the spot is too bright any closer than 15 feet without protective eye wear.

Bumped it up to 420ma and I think that will stay. I got a hold of some .12 ohm 1w resistors and some 100 ohm trimpots. Now one resistor and one trimpot to get as much current as I need on the current sense position on my diy DDL driver. I'm using two 3 volt cr123 lithium in series to power up.

I attached a 5/8 inch diameter lens to the front of the LPC with AR glass lens. 4 inches in front of the laser I get a .2mm dot that smokes anything in its path. The DDL driver is bumped up to 470ma now. I should switch from brass heatsink to a copper one. Time to get the lathe fired up. I'm using a duty cycle of 10 seconds with the current overspec'd like that. It's a purpose built burner at the moment. If I had to guess, an LPM would register well over 5 watts on the focused beam spot. Anyone ever use their LPM with a focused spot just to find out?

Hey pal, it must be awesome!! I don't think it c/b 5 watts, but the output measurement is not different from smaller or larger spot size. you may be burning with 320 mW or so, and with a nice tight dot, it will burn very well indeed! Great work! -GH

Alas, finally it bit the dust running at 470ma, when the laser diode received a reflection from a lens I pulled from the sled. It was a freak and would have lasted a long time I believe if not for seeing it's own reflection. Good thing Glenn has moar for us in the near future. ;-) Edit: I believe that when an LOC is running at high output it is at it's most vulnerable state for being killed with its reflected beam. Just my humble opinion.
