Hi Likeitbright:

Am I correct that the romisen 5352 host takes 1 AA? Do you use the driver that comes with it and 1 AA battery for a DIY diode laser?  I am guessing though that a AA 3.6v  lithium ion and flex drive would be needed.

I am interested in the $35 sink and host.

         Thanks,

yes, when I build a complete laser based on this host I use the flexdriver and a 3.7V li-ion battery (14500). Send me a pm and we can talk about getting a sink made up.

Hey treb76, I've finished your heatsink and fitted it to the host. :) I'll ship it out tomorrow. I'll post a pic here in a bit.

So I built a few 405nm lasers (803T) using my sinks.

What kind of duty cycle does this host/heatsink combo give you?

Good question. So far I've been able to leave the laser running several minutes no problem. What I suggest is a small amount of thermal compound between the aixiz module and sink and maybe even a little between the sink and the host as it's this thermal transfer to the host which is most important.

Glad i've got some extra arctic silver 5.

Could you also maybe post some pics of the driver board where the flexdrive gets attached? Always good to have some examples  ::)
Something like the pic?

I just received the host/hs combo and likeitbright is insanely skilled. I couldn't be more pleased with the fittings and threads! And there is even room for the flexdrive!

How much would it cost to get a 1'' x 1.5'' x .75'' with fins, and a slot drilled for an Aixiz module? Just looking at price estimate, I don't need it yet.
