You could do that if you'd like... I'd check with the other guys about that. What I usually do is drill a hole into the heatsink and plug the AixiZ module into the hole. That way the heatsink covers the whole module from all angles
hey daedal, great idea to sell then as a kit, and it looks awefully alot like mine ;D ;D ;D i used silicon for glue, is that hot glue in yours?
nice work!
This looks different to the circuit you have in the mods section, do you have a schematic for this one?
Looking to make a lab style unit for holography and need the output to be as stable as possible.
This uses the 2 x LM317 driver circuit schematic... The whole point of it is to make it available cheaply and ready made for those unexperienced with soldering and the such.
ok, well, I got one( the very first one made) and I have to say it looks great!. But the yellow wire in the short pair of wires has come off in shipping.
I'm looking at the pictures to see where it goes.
which is input voltage? the longer wires?
I must have forgotten to include the "spec" sheet I made with the package, I'm sorry But ya, the ling wire is input, and the short wires are output. The black on either is ground, the other is positive. The bigger one of the pots is the voltage control and the smaller one is the current control.
Hope that helps
Hey take some pictures of it and let me know how it works out for you. The way it is set up right now is at 3V and 200mA as you asked. I tested it and got it to light a match with my laser diode immediately! Show us what you get it to do I'm anxious.
Oh, by the way... I really tried to package this thing as best I could... Wrapped it in bubble wrap and then packed the box with the packing peanuts. I taped off the box tightly shut too. Was it fun opening it? ;D Did it get there alright?
As a precaution, I'd test out the voltage and current, or make sure the glue is not broken off before you hook the LD up to it. I'm sure it's ok. If it's beat up after all the packaging... God knows what they were doing with it!
If its not a trade secret or anything, could you put the circuit online that this module uses?
I've seen quite a few LM317 based solutions, and i'm just curious what you guys are using right now.
I'm doing some work on a different current source here, almost finished tinkering with that, and i would be interested to compare how the two perform. I'll gladly provide the schematic of that to anyone who wants it (or just put it on LPF somewhere).
What is the minimum difference in input and LD voltage for this circuit?
