(2) SHINP CL16RGY Laser Displays, 40mW 532nm, 100mW 650nm, 6ch DMX, autorun, sound controlled, linkable, etc. These have seen light use at smaller shows (recently replaced with CL36's as we are playing larger venues lately and have WAY too many midsize laser heads sitting around) and are well maintained, include hanging clamps for 1-2" trussing... $350/pr plus flat shipping of $20 in the USA. for more details, etc: http://www.szshinp.com/en/products.asp?nsid=4&pid=13

Oops - almost forgot, I could be convinced to consider a trade/cash situation for an LPM, either Ken or Jerrys ...

There any more info on this?

What's the scan speed and are they defiantly blended yellow? I have come across similar units in the past that are two separate colours and are not aligned to create the yellow.

Is this a scanner or can it only show separate lines? I mean, can I connect it to a PC and create some images?

It's DMX so in a way yes ;)

Just don't expect to be able to create your own effects from scratch, you can only adjust the pre programmed effects. (skew, rotate, scale etc.)

Got to it before you Brew haha.

Ha - beat me to the punch ;D

These units use steppers, so they are suited much more for the preprogrammed geometrics (tunnels, skies, waves, fences, cones, stars, etc) than animations, etc (which need at least 20k scanners to project smoothly)...

As to the controls - the first DMX channel controls the units patterns (off, static, dynamic, etc) as well as allows you to put the unit into sound active or "demo" mode (where it will run through all preprogrammed patterns and chases). Channel 2 allows you to choose individual patterns, 3-4-5 control X and Y axis position (aiming the patterns) as well as scanning speed which controls the smoothness of the patterns/projections, 6 is a speed control for the moving or dynamic patterns, 7 is the pattern dimension (size) and ch 8,9 control the 2 laser colors (yes, this system uses aligned optics to produce a true yellow, what's nice also is they can be realigned if necessary unlike a lot of the cheap-o RGY units) ...

There are a total of 255 preprogrammed scenes (patterns) and chases (dynamic, moving patterns), also there are a total of 209 steps for RGY mixing (in some steps, the unit will modulate the beams seperately to not mix, allowing red and green to appear simultaneously without mixing)...

I hope that answered all or most of the questions ;D

(Just a note: these are the same model that I have used to put together a couple of GVB units, the optics that combine the beams actually work rather well for violet... I could even be convinced to throw in a pair of heatsink/adaptors for Aixiz modules with these if the buyer wanted ;))

Oops - almost missed one of the questions: As to the PC interface, yes and no. A PC/DMX interface will allow you to control all the above patterns and parameters, but these are not like an ILDA unit where you can utilize software to actually design your own patterns.

Then again, these are quite a bit less money, and "bang for the buck" put on a great show!

Ahh, steppers are a huge no no for me.

Do you have any other units with better galvos? Even single colour is fine as I am just after one to turn into a violet or even dish out the cash for blue.

Thanks, that's the answer I needed (also I didn't know you needed +20k speed for a good image display).

That's a matter of opinion, really - I've seen some 10K scanners that really looked more like stepper shows (but that too could have been the software and/or progranning as versus the norm)... Never saw anything ugly come out of a 20k system, though ;)

Oh, BTW I would sell them seperately for $175 each, that's less than the cost of a 6X Blu-Ray pointer, and you'd get a nice 200+ pattern 3-color DMX display !!!
