Hey guys,
I'm a noob at lasers. But i am very fast becoming a fanatic.

I'm not looking for anything too specific.
I was wondering if you guys had any (cheaper) green lasers to sell me.

Im looking for something bright and strong enough to see the beam from miles away, possibly "Light a match".

Sorry if i offended anyone with my lack of knowledge.

I answered a similar question in your other post. But don't worry about being a "noob" we all have to start at one point. SenKat, Pseudonoment137 and Timelord all started out knowing nothing about lasers and look where they are now! But try out this for a starter laser.

I would stick to the True 5/30mW though.

is leadlight a brand?

what makes

200mw better than 5mw? besides power? is the beam more visible? I don't really care about burning through things, I just want there to be a 2 mile like beam, i think its super cool.

Power output is measured in mW.
As a rough guide:
Almost all beams will be visible at night, but the more power the brighter it will be.
Pop balloon - ~35mW
Cut electrical tape - ~70mW
Light match - ~90mW
Cut unstreched balloon rubber - ~120mW
Burn hard plastics and wood - ~150-200mW

Leadlight is a brand that makes 5mW green lasers, which have a reputation for being easy to 'mod' to give higher output power.

As a starter I would recommend the DealExtreme True 30mW. I have one and it's great!
