This is NOT another post putting down down WL or anything. What has always bothered me is why nationally know magazines such as wired and stuff like Guinness Book of World Records and other things give WL such good reviews and stuff. I want to believe them, their lasers look cool and they seemed like a nice company but I really don't know what to think. Any Ideas? :-/

Well, I can answer the Guiness question - they were lied to, and put Wicked in the book. The Hercules has always been the highest powered portable on the market (yeah, yeah, yeah...it IS portable, though) and I know that Laserglow is attempting to dispute Wicked's lies in order to get it fixed. Besides that - there are only about four Spyder II's in existence that ARE in spec. All the rest have been returned. LOL (that last part is a mixture of fact, and my opinion, whereas the first part is all true)

What about the X125? CNI doesn't make anything past 100, so how did the 125 come to be?

It's a freak. I'm sure that 500mW spyder outputted 500mW, but it was one of few... something they couldn't mass produce. If I wanted good reviews yet wanted to make lots of money and scam the customers, I would send the reviewers the top notch models, but send the customers the shitty ones.

Amirite?

Hit the nail on the head. And the x125 as I am sure you have seen. Is pretty much always out of stock. NOVA has really high standards and will not ship a 125 that just peaks at 125 or even averages at 125 for that matter. All of their lasers usually come 10mw average or more over their listed range.

well, i have been told of a freak hercules that averaged about 600mW and peaked about 750mW, though i'm not sure what date it was made.

nope they kept it for themselves lol, it went in their "museum", but would have sold for $8000 if they hadn't kept it.

That herc... it's not portable... well... it is... ;D Somewhat ;)

As about the power... I personally held one that tops off at 800mW and averages quite close to that number too ;) I've got a few pictures of it now :P with me in the pictures ;D ;D

Thanx Aseras ;)

P.S. That Hades is a MONSTER... a BEAST! I loved it! 8-)

I think steve claimed not so long ago that he has a 1W mantis he sells to military clients only. claimed is obviously the operative word. He would have so much demand for a product in that power level, to pass it up (if he had it) would be ludicrous.

We only hear stories of this Mantis :-/ But Wicked lasers have promoted the spyder as the Worlds most powerful handheld portable laser. This is bullshit as we all know and I'm glad that Laserglow are challenging this rediculous claim because the Hercules is still the DADDY!!!!
