Why can't I search for "o-like"?

I tried to use the search function in order to find all posts containing the word "o-like". However, what I get is "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." which of course is completely wrong. Why?
My hypothesis is that it happens because of the minus sign, for which the system interprets the query as "search for all posts containing the word o but not the word like". Am I right? In that case, how can the misinterpretation be circumvented? And in any case, how do I search the term "o-like" on the forum?

Use the Google Search Bar Just above your Post.
The Forum [Search] button is limited to work with
words greater than 4 Alpha Numeric characters...

Oh, so that is why. Thanks.

EDIT:
However, if I may make a suggestion: if a search query does not meet the limits of the search function, the resulting message should say so, instead of just saying "no matches".
