Hi all,

I'm new here and this may be a very noob question but gotta ask. I just bought 2 WL's from a local company that specializes in freight recovery. One states it is a P75 which I am assuming is a Pulsar 75. The other laser is Black and says Executive Series, but in the series there are many power level available, anyone have an idea how I can determine which one I have? Thanks in advance!

Does it have the warning label still on it? What does it say the power output is?

Otherwise, have you tried burning black electrical tape with it? Can it burn black leather or other black things?

Apart from actually using a meter to determine the power or the label, I don't think you can tell them apart... (WL = FAIL).

There is a warning label... says power < 20 mw.

And guessing from your post your not a WL fan? Just curious.

WL is not very popular around here because they often ship lasers that perform under spec and charge too much for their products.

If the warning label on your executive says <20mW we can safely assume you have the 15mW 'classic' model. The executive advanced has 35mW and would require a different label.

Thanks for the info! For 30 bucks each I'll use em till they die, I am excited to get or build some others I have read about here.

Yup, Classic alright.

I wouldn't say I'm much of a WL fan. They have some good products like the goggles, and I think the CORE is a pretty good laser, but the other ones are just so overpriced compared to what other companies offer.

Like here: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1211042301 125mW green for $300. $100 cheaper than any WL laser of that spec. And the one from Dragon is more likely to be over spec, where as the one from WL is more likely to be underspec.

But I reckon you got a good deal there. If it's one thing about WL lasers, they are good second hand, because a second hand one will be sold for a resonable price :)

Actually WL is very popular everywhere :P Quite notorious actually.Don't forget the false advertising. They do that....it's right on their site.

And yes, they're good second hand because they're actually sold at what they're worth instead of 3x the price. ::)

Well they do have a very slick website. And of course their goggles are good. (because they don't produce them themselves). :P
