Hi guys,

I am wondering if any of you are selling AW IMR 18500s. I ordered some 18650s from Manafont, I think it is blocked by their customs in HK.

I received a package (USPS Priority) with 18500 inside yesterday, no issue. I still think they are prohibited. Could somebody point me the way to any forummer here who is selling, or any websites which will do things "correctly"?

I need them for my 445nm Hotlights. The protected 18500s don't work, just flickers and won't do high power even for those high-drain 18650s (I used some test probe to connect).....you can hear the caps in the driver emitting some high-freq sound. Put in a AW IMR 18500 fully charged, woot at least you'll have 15 mins of combined runtime!

hey you got the batteries I sent you right?? Those are the best 18500's around. you need more or them???

Bro, yeah i got them alright and they work real well.
I tried with the magnet + my Li-Co 18650s (they are rated high-drain) which can do 3A and manually/mechanically connected via test probes, still no go...the protection circuit kicks in quite aggressively.
I have 2 Ultrafire 18650 which came with my O-Like 400mW 405nm and a cheapo $40 405nm, forget it, could not even make it lase.

You selling bro? I think i'd need 2. Need more of them, as I think full charged it could only do about 20 times of 1 min, before flickering. Still plenty of runtime, just that i'd like to stock up more of them.

Just thinking aloud, at 1.7A to the 445 diode, how many hrs before failure would that be?

Say a IMR has 400 useful cycles (we don't use the last 100, probably too short), so that's about 15 mins * 400 = 7500 mins, or 125hrs.

You pulling 1.7A through the switch? That may be an issue, depending on how much current those switches can handle...

The switches are ok. I am not sure if its 1.7A or even ~ 4A. Anyway I found that its all good if i charge it up to the brim, 4.2V just shy of the 4.25V threshold, I will have a good 10 mins lase. Drop to 3.8V and it will start to flicker a wee bit (power drop).
We need muscle. :D
