Where can we buy a SLD3235VF ?

Oh - this is by no means a newsflash ! This article, and hte associated price reduction is months old at best :( You can NOT just call up sony, and say, I need 200 blu-ray diodes for my forum...DAMN I WISH ! LOL !!! Naw, the prices have dropped on the "repair" assemblies to the point where it WAS $100 each just a few months ago, and it is now down to $27.00 each ! Taht is a pretty damned good reduction in my book ! I think at the time of this article, if you could find a blu-ray on the market (Ebay or otherwise) it was still costing close to $150.00 each....maybe closer to $200 ? I cannot recall. At any rate, the good news is, we are fainlly seeing the price reduction on the component level, but on the whole units themselvs? Not yet :( No such thing as a $100 blu-ray player :( *sigh* It;s coming though ! By next Christmas, perhaps ? Maybe by then, sony will have leached all the cash possible out of society !!!

Walmart has an hddvd player for $99.99....  dont they use the same nm laser?

well, I was looking for a link, and cant find it, but I think is a sale for nov 22 - 23...

This would be awesome! ;D We need to do a group buy on these if they would be available! I wonder if these would be as picky as far as static... ::)

I think we'll need some patience ;)

The 100 mW+ 405 nm diodes will hit the surplus market at some point, as blu ray or hddvd writers become more commonly available. Realistically, that will take at least another year, if not longer since consumer interest in these devices is limited.
