What's that smell?

So, I forgot I had turned on my xenon bulb Dorcy light. I found out when, after smelling something horrible, I moved the flashlight, and felt the heat. It was on for a good 30-45 minutes, the whole thing was hot, and the lens, which is over a millimeter thick, had begun to warp. It still works, but the lens is cloudy and slightly deformed. Has this ever happened to one of you?
