Are there any offical laser Saftey glasses for Bluray lasers or are they so new people here are only using the risky and dangerous practice of DIY's?

I know for red/green lasers proper safety glasses are avaible, but seems a quick google search Bluray safety glasses are harder to come by.

OEM laser systems sells certified laser goggles for 405nm, you can check them out. Many goggles for green block blu-ray well too. My goggles from optotronics meant for green completely block out 405nm even when shined through the goggles.

So my WL green laser shades may work ok then?

Absolutely :) I have the exact same model of shades and they work great against blu-ray :)

Wow! I was looking for a thread like this! Perfect! [smiley=happy.gif]

Or you can use sunglasses 8-) They work because they have an UV-filter, and 405nm is not far from UV. Although sunglasses does not protect from blu-ray fluorescence, as if you shine a blu-ray on a sheet of white paper, for example. Then it will be blue light, which passes through the UV-filter.

My green shades works well too with this wavelength. :)
