Hello.

I'm starting up a laser shop where I will be selling laser products to try and meet the standards some other chinese companies can't (like laserman recently). I'm not a laser expert, I'm an entrepreneur and I measure all my lasers at the local university to guarantee output but still put prices that are comparable to O-like and Lazerer.

I'm wondering, is there a specific product you would like to be able to buy for a cheaper price then on the current marketor something that doesnt exist on the market at all or something? I run another company which sells flashlights, earphones and such and hI ave a relationship with a lot of chinese factories and companies.

Yesterday I also was able to negotiate with DHL to be able to send express shipments to the whole world for a flat rate of $12 for any package up to 1kg. That means from the day you order until you have the package takes about 3 days. Do you have any suggestions on this? Is $12 to much? DHL offered me the price based on 100.000 packages (not expecting to srnd that from the laser shop but total from all of my stores and companies) sent per year (atleast).

Do you have other suggestions? What payment alternatives are preferred?

Thanks.

Hello!

Always nice to see a shop owner who takes the time to ask his clients what they would like.

As long as you have the most popular and essential items and provide quality service, you should see decent business. Many of us only buy from China out of necessity, and would gladly send our money elsewhere if given the option.

PayPal payment is always a big plus for international retailers; without it, the risk may be too much to overcome, even if the deals are amazing.

Some suggested products:
<100mW 445nm SINGLE MODE handhelds
>1W 445nm Lasers with GOOD heatsinking; handheld, lab, and module formats
>200mW 635nm and 650nm handhelds
full range of 5mW to 500mW 405nm handhelds
full range of 5mW to 500mW 532nm lasers with GOOD heatsinking; handheld, lab, and module formats
Laser Goggle sets that cover the 400-532nm, 600-700nm, and 800-1100nm ranges.
Both AR coated glass lenses for blue and red wavelengths

If you want to stock some REALLY hard to find items...
Any lasers between: 460nm and 525nm, 540nm and 630nm

And don't forget about optics:
dichroic mirrors
beamsplitters
prisms

I fully agree with this and think you should also invest in a LPM to test and measure your lasers to ensure you are also sending out lasers that are on/over spec.
