What is a coil gun?

Just watched this video, it seems pretty interesting. Does anyone know how to build one of these? or does any one have one?

A coil gun is a electromagnetic device that is used to accelerate metal objects to
high velocity's. They usually use capacitors to store the energy needed to cause
such a large electromagnetic pulse.

Its very similar to the rail gun and is a very simple device. I've used a a camera
capacitor and a coil of wire to launch paper clips across the room. ;D It was anything but deadly though.
