The OP pointed out a single "difference" on the two boards. The component referenced is a capacitor not a diode and they are the same value (10uF). That is what I pointed out. What are you referring to?

My mistake :-/.. I am nowhere near an electronics expert..lol

I may sometime try changing the crystal.. just that I have to try to move this laser diode/driver to the other brass housing which is sure to be a PITA. Funny thing is this little 5mw seems to be just as bright now as the 50 before I modded it....

I do know I'll be waiting until my 150mw NewWish gets here before I tear this one down.. I have too much fun with this thing to have a dead one for 2 weeks LOL.
