WERE IS THE DIODE I NEED??

okay so im a noob and i understand some things but ive taken apart three dvd burners and havent figured out where the diode is.
and because this is a dvd burner some people say there is two diodes where are they located can anyone help me :-/ :-/

Undo all the screws you can, take off the lens (the round bluish thing facing the camera, take off the pcb's and ribbon cables and see where that leaves you. If you really can't find it, just trace the optics backwards from the lens.

wow you really took apart three dvd burners you know that you can just buy the diode of the internet

sometimes dvd burners can be cheaper than those, like i saw one or two at a garage sell for 7 dollors, or he may be taking apart a 18x or 20x dvd burner which will have a stronger diode in it.
