Hi guys,
Really need your help on this, I'm buying a laser from Blord who lives in Belgium. Belgium is in the European Union btw. Now what I want to know is weather it'll get through customs(without batteries) and weather I have to pay any tax on it. I understand that buying for personal use is different to commercial use,
Any one in the uk bought a laser from blord. Did you pay any extra tax? Here's the link for his laser

Hey welcome to the forum.

Very quick answer no taxes or duties. If you order from the US or China though, its a different story as they are not part of the EU. Some places in the EU are considered "exceptional areas", where different customs and tax regulations apply, but Belgium is not one of them.

You should not have to worry since like you say both are in the EU.

Don't mean to make you worried. :tinfoil:Leaving out batteries is a good idea. I also don't know what description and value you may have written on the declaration label. But some tell-tale signs just ring alarm bells. Do keep in mind that the arrangement of almost every processing centre that receives international parcels is made up of these depts typically : :can:
1. Post Office with tracking system for registered items.
2. Customs Dept with x-ray machine to scan parcels w/out opening them up (an increasing number of them now zero in on Lithium & Li-ion batteries) and read labels for values that attract a tax beyond a certain quantum.
3. Weapons & Ordinance Dept with explosives scanning machine (that's why parcels sometimes have a mysterious hole in some unobstrusive corner) and skills to identify ammunition, firearms, knives eg. balisongs, karambits, switchblades, etc.
4. Drug Enforcement Dept with anti-narcotic dogs (even cannabis seeds give off an odor).
5. Chemical & Radioactive Substance Dept (nitroglycerine, polonium, magnesium, phosphorus, etc.).
6. Licensing Dept that checks for import and trade documents to verify legitimacy and adherence to government regulations.
