Uisng the photodiode feedback in a laser

Hi

I am building a microprocessor based laser controller for a 40 watts fiber coupled diode array.
The pin-outs are there.

I know how to determine the temperature using the built-in thermisters but for the photodiode, I need some idea how I can use it.

Anyone has any idea?
