You mean a 5.6mm?
if you can get the screws to still hold it down, and the pins don't touch the sides of the hole on the other side, and the die is centered in the same spot that it is in the 9mm diode, then it should work.
Unless it's for DPSS, in which case you might want to make sure it is oriented the same, in addition to all of the above.
