Yes I know craftsman and some others do this too AND craftsman tools are nicer BUT these "tool shop" tools are dirt cheap and they claim that even if you are just not happy with them you can exchange or return!
Most of my tools are craftsman but I couldnt justify dropping $80 on a 40 piece tap and die set with no warranty. I happened to be at menards picking up other items and saw the guarantee on the 60 piece tap and die set. I asked an employee and he said that indeed people come in and exchange tool shop brand tools all the time and that if a tap breaks or im not happy with one I can exchange it FOREVER :eg: By the way the set is only $26.
At this price if they work fine and get the job done but break on a monthly basis I dont care because ill just swap them out. If they dont work...ill just return them!
If anyone needs a tap and die set or any other hand tool that WILL break or wear out in your lifetime regardless of quality I strongly suggest checking out menards. You cant lose.
