Which simple pointer in the market would you suggest to obtain; powered by a removable 18650, switch button on the side, that can be made 100 feet waterdepth proof for scuba use, fitting a ~1Watt violet or blue laser diode in place of whatever has original, focusable to ~20' away ?

Google " waterproof diving laser pointers" there are a lot of them and in various wavelengths and depth capabilities.

Even on eBay there are several that supposedly are good for a 100 meter depth.

Will need to reinvent the wheel. Found zero with side push button switch at your link. Only then can start to tackle the modification.

Well if you can't adapt to using a tail cap switch which seems to be the standard in dive pointers, then you are SOL.
You will have to make one or settle for a waterproof to 100 meters dive capable "waterproof"/water resistant flashlight like an Acebeam D20 2.0 which you could turn into a laser pointer without a lot of effort, the hard part/waterproof part having already been done.
