Hi, I’m a newcomer to the world of lasers. I recently purchased a Thor M II from LPS and upon arrival the laser worked amazing with two Tenergy 3.7v 650mAh batteries. However, today after letting my batteries charge the laser is only outputting a very faint blue light. I was curious if anyone knows if this is a battery issue or an issue with the laser itself?

It is impossible to say with so little information. The best path from here would be to try a new set of fully charged batteries. That would tell you all you need to know. What is the claimed output power of your laser? If it is 2 watts or less these batteries would suffice for much longer than a 4+ watt laser.

The advertised output was 1.6W. However, I’m probably going to try buying a different set of batteries and seeing if that does anything. It was just odd to me that they worked fine (fully charged) yesterday, but don’t seem to be putting out any power today also fully charged.

Does your charger show the voltage? Make sure they are full at 4.2V.
Another noobie member possibly having a bad laser from Laserpointerstore.:(
I would check the batterys first and i'f it doesn't help I would try hard to getting you money back with what ever payment method you used.. "Tommy" the owner has NOT bean returning messages and his claim of great customer service is a flat out lie.
Unfortuntely he used this forum as a starting point and never lived up to his claims..

Yep. I used a Nitecore intellicharger new i2 to charge the batteries and they’re showing up as being fully charged at 4.2V. But I’ll try new batteries first before starting a dispute with my credit card to avoid the hassle lol.

There's no beam or any quality of a spot.
I would start the process of getting back your payment now..
I don't mean to be a jerk and not help with the issue but have seen so so many Thor issues and Laserpointerstore neglect to help that its the only chance you have to re coop some money.
A week spot usually shows a dead diode and your using a decent Nitecore charger that shows fully charged cells..

Oh no you’re not being a jerk at all. I appreciate your help, but I’ve already opened a claim with my credit card so we’ll see. I had a friend give good reviews of LPS which is the reason I ordered from them. If you don’t mind, do you have any recommendations of where I could get a quality laser similar to the Thor? I’m not looking for anything more than 3W’s really if that helps any.

There are several options, but I'd look into getting one made by a member here. Lifetime17, Rich, sells these and you can contact him by private message if you're interested. There are others too, but it depends on where in the world you live.
