Teenager gets 15 months jail for shining green laser at a helicopter who was in pursuit of a suspect of a burglary, the pilot got blinded and had to stop the pursuit.
They did identify the vehicle of the teenager and pulled him over and found the laser in hin trunk..

I don't know, man... what are the odds of someone on the ground shining a laser that literally "blinds" the pilot to the point that he has to give up a pursuit?

I can understand a quick flash, but even a split second from a high power laser at long range is probably not going to seriously affect your vision.

Maybe the pilot had already lost the perp and was using getting lased as an excuse?
