I have made several movies and I can only provide links because the forum does not support 3gp and allow my to upload in that format. Its no biggy to me.... its just that other folks cannot download them if they want.

I used quicktime to convert avi to 3gp.

I can take a 55meg file and take it down to 3.4 meg with 196kbits/sec playback or drop the playback to 48kbits/sec and bring it yet further to 1.3 meg?... the playback is a bit so so.. so I prefer the faster playback... but even at that, it compresses to far smaller than wmv or any other supported format I can find.

Both realplayer and quicktime play it great.... windows media player of course does not.

Here is an example in reply # 18

Both of those files would have been 50+ meg in .avi format and still too large for many folks to deal with downloading in .wmv format.

Thanks for the offer.. I installed that free on you pointed me too.... man its fast!!!!!
Just won't take avi to wmv though... I can get it to 3gp with quicktime and thats really compressed.... I think its used for cell phone video... but most people seem to not be able to play it.. I'm not sure if its a codec thing or what.. but realplayer and quicktime play them just fine.. but if I could get something that would go to wmv it would be better....

that funky window movie maker will do it, but it malfunctions somehow with my configuration.. I've tried it on 3 different computers now.. but they all have the same configurations with all the xp full updates on everything...

I even went backwards and installed the same version of window movie maker that Senkat uses, but I still got the exact same error....

So I'm assumging its a registry issue or something..
