Starting 1st DIY need helpZorz ...

Hey guys.

Going to start planning my first DIY.

Think I may go ahead and get a Kryton host.

Been doing some reading and asking around, think 16xDVD is the diode of choice.

Question is: What brand?

There's really no avenue for me to get one really really cheap so thought I'd just find a wholesaler and rip apart a new drive.

What brand have you had the best experience with and why? Does it really matter? Can get new drives shipped for $20.
