Hit with 5mw of 532 nm... Looks just like it does in person, works with 3/4 of my snow globes this one being the brightest

I'll have to try that out...

"Seattle" is backwards... did you use a webcam or something to take the photo? :p

Yes, I've tried this also. A pretty neat effect!
Watch out for reflections off of the glass, although.

:thanks:

LOL, I took it on my iMac's iSight...

Yeah, I thought about the reflections... While we are on this topic, I have read in different places that 5mW is the U.S. limit because it is "safe" but I have also read that it is unsafe. Should I have goggles for my 5mW?

Sorry for the threadjack

As long as you dont shoot yourself in the eye, or point it at a mirror, you should be ok. If you plan on getting more into lasers, I'd grab a pair.

Threadjacking your own thread? ;)

Also, 5mW is "safe" because the blink reflex kicks in before any permanent damage. If you were to continually stare at a 5mW laser, it'd probably do awful things to your eyes... but as a general rule, glasses aren't necessary for 5mW lasers.
