Hi everyone, I need to build a small infrared laser pointer between 3.5mW and 25mW for detetcion by the infrared camera in the nintendo wiimote.

I have looked at a few laser diode modules, the links are below. Can anyone advise me what would be best to get and if they are as simple as they seem?

I cannot post links because i have not made ten posts yet so there is a space between ww and w

ww w.aixiz.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=67

This one is the 25mW but does not inluce any information about what power source it needs so I am unsure what would be best to use

There is also a space between ww and w on this link too

ww w.worldstartech.net/pdf/UL5-3.5G-780.pdf

This one is 3.5mW and it says it needs 3-5VDC, would that mean that i would use 3 double aa batteries.
Also would it be powerful enough to be detetcted by the wiimote, which contains a 1024x768 infrared camera with built-in hardware blob tracking of up to 4 points at 100Hz.

Thank you very much for help in advance!

If I were you I would avoid using anything above 5mW. 25mW of IR bouncing about with no protection doesn't sound good to me :(

Ok I will use the 3.5mW watt one. Do you think that will be picked up by the camera?

Cheers

Granted the camera doesn't have an IR Filter, it will see it as a small whitish-purple dot.
