Alright...I just bought this 150mw green laser pen from my older bro. I was messing around with it and it got me curious about other pens...So I went on the internet and found out all this stuff about Shoddy laser pens...My question is, how do you tell if you have one or not? I don't know what make or model my laser pen is other then it's black and puts out a 150mw green beam...

Thanks,
Steve

well to tell if it's actually 150mw try popping a ballon or lighting a match or cutting electrical tape. Because if it's actually 150mw it should do that easily

Post a picture of it here - or you can send it to a forum member for testing - I have a meter, and will test it for you for the cost of shipping if you want - as long as you are Stateside - if not, Customs could get involved, and that makes me nervous - although there are other forum members with meters in the U.K as well !

If it burns items, then it is most likely at least 50mw...(ballpark figure) If you truely want to know the quality of it, and if there is a IR issue with it, the only true way is to send it to be tested.

Well, it can burn all those things listed before, but I don't think I can get it sent to be tested, being that i live in Canada...I'll get a picture as soon as I can...

There has GOT to be someone here from Canada with a laser power meter....

If you insure it, it'll make it across the border as a lighting gadget :-)

That's why I am posting to see if anyone knew anything since I couldn't find anyone with a meter around on other forums. Oh and I will have the pictures on here soon...

Alright guys, sorry it took me so long to get the pictures up here...My computer has been really sketchy lately...Anyway, here are some pictures, ask for more more if you want them.
