I sent a defective laser back to o-like, I was wondering how long it takes to go from the US to china. I sent it over 3 weeks ago, and Susie still has not received it.

Did you send it with tracking?

EMS Priority took 9 days to get from US to them. Regular mail can take much longer. I wouldn't hit the panic button until you're past the 2 month mark, but in all honesty there really isn't much you can do either.

The address rather complicated, i had a very hard time fitting it into the standard USPS form.

Sending back items to China must be done by tracking.

I once returned a laser to DL by tracking and it took two and half weeks to get there. I could know at any step where it is and eventually that it has been received.

For complicated Chinese addresses the solution is to print it from your email and glue it to the package or the shipping form, thus making sure no copying errors made.

I had my wife drop it off at the post office she sent it 1st class international parcel. It does have a tracking number, but there is no info since it was dropped off, just the acceptance scan. I know now there are other classes of shipping that have better tracking. Thanks for the info, I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

I did print the address and attached it to the package, at least i got that part right.....lol

Shipping to and from china is maddeningly slow. Just be patient and hope for the best.

To be honest that's also a huge a reason I prefer to no longer buy from china. If there is a problem shipping takes so long that even a paypal dispute is often not an option. I've been semi lucky so far in that I only lost shipping fees back, and I have one last laser from o-like coming.

The good part is, o-like does have excellent customer service, and even if something does happen I'm sure Susie will work with you.

InfinitusEquitas,

Did you already get your O-like 400mw green replacement?

I am curious whether you got a good unit this time, because I am considering contacting Susie since I suspect that my O-like 400mw green is underspec.

Please update.

Well, my situation got complicated. I did send the laser back for $35 with tracking. I contacted Susie on the 28th of last month after this status showed on usps:

Delivered Abroad, April 25, 2011, 11:00 am, CHINA PEOPLES REP

At the time she claimed to not have gotten it. I thought it was kind of fishy, but I did also have pictures of the actual receipt and shipping label with the address she gave me, and she did agree to ship out a replacement.

Current status for the replacement is:

Your item left SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE on April 30, 2011. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

So I'm sure she will take the laser back if undamaged, or give you a replacement, but you are going to out on the original shipping charge, the shipping back, and gonna have to wait for a long time. My original order for this laser was in mid march, and I still don't have a working laser:(

You're getting an lpm... see what it actually puts out, and post your results, before making the final decision.

Of course...

Wasn't gonna do anything before I LPMed my laser.

It's a bit bothering what you said about Susie's denial of getting your laser back, even though she sent you a replacement after all.

To be honest that really bugged me too, but I didn't see a reason to press the issue since she agreed to ship out the replacement.

I mean here's the actual tracking number: EG640919549US and it clearly says delivered on USPS and not just to China - which is what she told me. I was actually really surprised since they attempted saturday delivery.

I also took pictures of the receipt and shipping label (attached) - I hate having paper clutter and that package went out along with my tax papers. I'm hoping she realized her mistake and that's why she agreed to send the laser right away.

Either way though... I'm really glad I paid extra for tracking, otherwise I'd be SOL, since I would have no proof of any kind.

As an aside, I'm definitely gonna print the label next time - with my messy handwriting it was a real chore to get it all in there, especially while in a crowded post office and no comfortable spot to write on.

Edit: If the laser is over >200mW IR filtered I wouldn't send it back.
