I don't know what's going on with my laser. I pulled it out the other day and the beam seems to have turned into a block, no matter how I focus it.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

It is a characteristic of all blue diodes----dot is not round---is more rectangular.

The large circle/semi-circle is the diode case window. The rectangular object in the center is the laser diode die. The bright "aura" surrounding the die is the back part of the case directly behind the die being lit up. The dark portion below is the shelf where the diode die is mounted onto.

What I'm saying is that it didn't do that before. It always focused to a fine point.

Is best for you to contact SCI-FIi with the question--if anyone is familiar with normal functioning in SCI-FIi lasers, SCI-FI is.

THe image you show is normal for a multi-mode blue diode laser output----it will never have a round center dot just a smaller rectangular dot etc.

Maybe your focus mechanism is missing, not working, perhaps lens lens fell out something like that, lens loose maybe?

Hi ,

Do not remember if you asked about this.

Anyway , looks like the lens moved or something. I can send you a new lens if needed or just help you fix this one.

Yeah, I checked, and somehow the lens managed to pop out of the focusing knob. :cryyy:

Any help is appreciated, Joker.
