safety googles 400nm-700nm?

I need safety googles, but i don't want to buy many googles for different wavelenght lasers so is there any googles that can protect my eyes against violet, blue, green, yellow and red beams?

Probably the most you will have to purchase would be 3 pairs of glasses (due to the yellow thrown in there). There really isn't a full spectrum goggle out there that will allow you to see anything.

There are these: http://store.oemlasersystems.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8_10_18&products_id=55 but you can see the VLT is only 2% and it doesn't cover the blue/violet wavelengths.

We have medical IShields that are OD7+ for all wavelengths. They are stainless steel eye cups. You get my point. You just won't find truly broadband visible glasses.
 
The problem is that when you try to filter out the entire visible spectrum, there is nothing left for you to see with. You might be able to track down some glasses that only filter out very narrow ranges (such as 400-410, 520-540, 630-650 etc) but that kind of thing would be incredibly expensive.
 
check out dragon lasers, they have blueray and red for 30 bucks, not a bad deal.

I can second dragon lasers, I picked up a pair of goggles (blue/green and red) and they work great. Even came with a nice bag and a microfiber cloth each.
 
Glad I found this thread, I have been looking for exactly the same. I have emailed the guys over at OEM and they're helpful. I am currently looking to get 'DIW - Blu Ray, Red, Yellow Protection,' but cant assess what a vlt of 21% is like.
 
I'll be in the market for goggles that can protect against green and bluray soon. Is it true that OEM will offer coupons to those referred from this site?
 
The two hobby laser glasses cannot be purchased using the discount code as they are specially priced. Any other pair of glasses offered on our site can get an LPF discount (NOR200801)
 
Talking about broadband goggles:
I am using a red laserpointer (< 5mW) and a green 50mW laserpointer, so I will need 2 goggles. However mine green laserpointer doesn't have an IR filter and I don't see anything about IR filters in the goggles for red- or green lasers (on either oem laser systems and dragon lasers). What goggle can I use for the green laserpointer that also filters out the dangerous IR leakage? (n00b here, just about to start with laser experiments, after buying safety goggles ofcourse ;))

What however does this entale: "energy is absorbed for a minimum of 10 seconds before loss of protection"?

After that time the goggles are useless? Or do they regenerate? If so how long those that take?
 
That is the ANSI verbiage. It is the requirement for certification. It means they meet the requirements. The standard is Z.136 if you want to look at it.

The dyes will not bleach for a minimum of 10 seconds if you take a direct shot to the eye. It gives you the time to get out of the way.

There are a few LPF members using the ML7s now. You might ask for some feedback from them.
