Safety Goggles & laser from Rayfoss

Just ordered a 150mw 405nm from rayfoss and tossed these goggles in the cart as well since they are inexpensive and I know I need goggles...

My question is if these goggles are good enough for the relatively low power 150mw (Compared to 1w+) ...

I plan to get other lasers and a nicer pair of goggles (likely the Eagle Pair ones from survivallasers) after the holidays... but was just wanting to see if anyone has these ones from rayfoss and can tell me if they are adequate for the 150mw?

Those glasses should be fine with a low power 405.

These goggles (T-REX) are very bad, you can use it with caution with your laser of 150mW
(anyway be careful not get a direct hit with these goggles), but I recommend to you buy something better as soon as possible.

You can point your laser at the goggles (of course when they are not in your head), and see if anything passes trough

Member with over 900 posts and over 40 positive rep says the goggles are okay...
Member with over 700 posts and about 30 positive rep says the goggles are bad...

Who to believe?? Anyone who actually HAS these goggles and could give input? or direct me to a review/link about them?

Not that I don't appreciate you guys responses but they both come from somewhat well established members of the community and they contradict each other which means they don't really help someone new to the laser community like me! lol

I had said that those glasses *should* be okay with a low power 405, such as you said you had bought with the glasses.

I do not have those glasses personally, only have read reviews.
They are not good for higher powers, hence why I said for lower power.

You had said that you were buying better ones very soon, so I didn't see an issue.
This is an open forum where people give their opinions.
Sometimes opinions do not coincide. Sorry.

Do you have those glasses, Piferal?
If he does, then his opinion trumps mine.

And yes, as tuhoz said, shine the laser through the lens and if the beam doesn't pass, you are good..

Yes, I have the 2 models, for red laser and the goggles in question here, and
I can assure that they are bad, do not have anywhere near the protection advertised.

Anyway as I said in my post # 3 for this laser of 150mW these goggles are correct, but
the best is buy other with better quality, and more if the OP have the intention to buy
a more powerful laser in the future..

Here I have also a mini review, this one is for the model for red laser, the same goggles
(of which are spoken here) for violet-blue-green is almost identical, ie, IMO are bad.

Thanks for the info guys... As I said in the original post my primary concern was only if these goggles were good enough for the relatively low powered 150mw. I will certainly be getting better quality goggles if/when I get a higher powered laser. Also I don't plan on pointing the laser directly at myself with or without goggles. So at most they will be needed for reflections / looking at the dot on a wall/match/balloon/tape several feet or more distant.

On another note... I ordered/paid for this laser on November 16th and according to tracking it arrived at my local post office and is out for delivery today Nov 28th. That is better then I expected after the many complaints I've seen about long shipping times. Only thing that sucks is that I won't be at home when its delivery is done, and I don't know if they will leave it there or take it back to the post office.

I've never ordered from rayfoss, but most chinese shippers I have ordered from require signature in person; either at point of delivery or at the post office.

It's pretty annoying, but I suppose it makes sense that the sellers want to make sure stuff is delivered.

I recieved the items from Rayfoss yesterday and posted a "Noob" review over here:

And there are pictures there of the laser going through the goggles onto a wall about 1 foot distant... The dot is visible but is very dim even in a darkened room. I think Piferal is correct in that these goggles while not upto spec (advertised as OD4) they are good enough for a lowish (100-200mw) laser if you are careful and avoid a direct hit.
I will definetly buy better goggles from survivallasers before I get a higher power laser.
