I purchased the Regalight EDC Q5 about a month ago.
There were problems with the pill and switch. The pill had flikering issues. The rear switch had problems with the switches burning out. I didn't have any of these issues doing some lux readings with the original pill and switch. I had the light on for 2 minutes to take the readings with the big head and also another 2 minutes taking lux readings with the small head.
The fit is excellent while using either head the small or large. The threads are smooth. I give the grade A.
The finish is also excellent no flaws in the Type III Hard Anodize. The only exception is the lettering where it says www.regalight.com located below the Regal logo. The lettering is blotchy. I give the grade A because the small lettering isn't very noticeable because if it's size.
The replacement pill is very easy to change and the replacement rear switch was also very easy to change.
The beam tint is a nice white. When using the small OP head there is the characteristic ring around the corona. Using the big head SMO there are some very noticeable rings which some may not like but rings do not bother me.
When you put the Regalight EDC side by side with the Dereelight DBS V2 the Regalight EDC big head reflector looks larger. In my comparsion beam shots the Dereelight DBS does out throw the Reaglight EDC. I thought I might have to do some long beam shots but at 32' you will see the difference.
From the Regalight Thread,
Change mode and use custom brightness:
Regalight EDC has four modes: Tactical Light, Custom Brightness, Strobe and Standby.
Usage of Strobe:
Tap the switch once, release, then press switch within one second. To return to tactical mode, repeat one short press followed by another.
Usage of Custom Brightness:
Press the switch half way, then release. After 2 seconds, press the switch half again, the brightness will go from Min to Max gradually. The light flickers once at Min, and twice at 50% output; and three times at Max (100%) to remind users the current brightness level. The whole process takes about 8 seconds. When desired brightness level is reached, release the switch at once, the brightness will be chosen and memorized.
Usage of Standby:
Before using this mode, please press the switch half continuously twice into Strobe, then release, after 2 seconds press the switch completely, lock it on.This mode is Standby. The light flickers once per 5 seconds with min brightness. This function can help you find the light easily in the night. Turn it off to quit this mode. Turn it on next time, the light will be in Tactical Light mode.
Voltage range is 0.7-4.2V
