Hey everyone.
I finished my blu-ray build and now im looking for a red laser.
I've been searching the forums, but haven't seen many reviews for the Rayfoss 200mw focusable laser.
Can anyone assure me that this is a good choice?
Also, are there any features I should know about? I noticed the green focusable laser has the window that keeps dust out.

Or, since I really like the rayfoss host, is there any way to buy an empty rayfoss host off someone here, and then build a stronger red laser into it?

Thanks in advanced,
Stephen.

If you are looking at this one:

Rayfoss

It's the "dilda" version 2, search on the forums for "dilda V2" or simply dilda (since the only difference is the design) and you will find a lot of info.

Links for version 1 and version 2 on O-like:

http://www.o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=926 (version 1)
http://www.o-like.com/b2b_cpinfo.asp?id=971 (version 2)

But answering the question, yes, it's the best choice for a 200mW red laser. It's also avaliable from O-like though.

Yours,
Albert

Go for the new style dilda from rayfoss or O-Like.
Everybody should have one considering how cheap they are. They perform better than any other cheap pre-made chines lasers.

The dilda will give you much better burning power. The laser you pointed out from rayfoss has a extra piece of glass for water proofing. This takes power away from you final output.

Also with the dilda you can easily upgrade to a High power glass lens
Like I did

You can also use rcr2 3.7v batteries that when charged give you 4.2v
Thats almost 8.5v of Power
You can do this because the driver in the dilda is unregulated

Hi Pa1ntbru5h
I have that exact laser you ask about, heres a pic of the open can diode

Removable lens inside the Rayfoss: RF660-200mW-WFFL

Burns fast & although it was sold as a 200mw the little box on the warning sticker was ticked in the 250mw box,
though cant verify actual output as im yet to own an LPM.

That super bright pink/red beam on the rayfoss site is a bit of trick photography, it looks no where near as good in real life.
Construction wise the host is of excellent build, however that lens housing wobbles a bit which isnt so nice.
I personally find this laser a bore, OK I guess if you like burning objects & dont want to spend much, but personally I would now look into higher power custom builds for red.
Hope this helps
