Red Diode Can Power?

I have a red diode thats been in an aixiz module for some time thats not actually being used but I am unsure as to what powers its capable of. It is a closed can diode but when I got it some time ago it was advertised as a burning diode.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought closed can diodes are generally a lot weaker than open can diodes. Yet I have read there are burning closed can diodes about...

My plan is to turn it into a laby at some time in the near future. I have another open can red thats already in aixiz so which one would I get more power out of? I don't know the make of either one which really doesn't help.

The Dilda has a closed can red LD that can easily output 280mW before the lens
with two 3.6V CR2 batteries... 8-)
You would need to see if there are any markings on the LD or try to remember
where it came from to be sure you don't overdrive it... :'(

Hmm right ok...

I have no idea what the diode could be, all I can say is one is a long open can and the other is a closed can. Both of which have 3 pins which as far as I know all red diodes have 3 pins... The closed can does however have a 2D bar code on the bottom but its about 2mm big and the bar code scanner on my phone cant focus on it.
