Laser Pointer Forums - Discuss Laser Pointers | High Power Lasers

So I bought a <5mW red laser from radioshack today, and I'm trying to turn it into a burning laser. I know that with a green laser you can remove the top and batteries and then do the whole screw/soldiring iron thing. I can't remove the top of my laser though. Is there a specific way to do it? Would it work with a red laser?
